Japanese-born Pianist, Composer & Leader of the Band Doggy Cats with Tetsuro Hoshii

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview with Japanese-born Pianist, Composer and Leader of the Band Doggy Cats Tetsuro Hoshii .. His band has a new CD out called Daikon Pizza .. and it’s a good one .. He’s originally from Japan, came to the Berklee College of Music on Scholarship and now resides in New York City ..  The Doggy Cats is a six-piece brass started in New York City in 2015 and the band ranges widely in age from 20’s to 50’s and have collected many influences along the way—from New Orleans jazz to cartoons—resulting in an eclectic, non-classifiable new music of joy .. These days you can catch them at their regular gig at Sunny's Bar in Red Hook in Brooklyn…So, get to know him and the band and dig this interview my friends ..
