Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Trombonist, Composer & Arranger John Yao .. He talked about his newest 2019 CD How We Do with the John Yao's Triceratops .. So, for over a decade, his talents have put him well into the New York City jazz scene. His lyrical soloing and expressive, round tone combined with his creative hunger for exploring the boundaries of harmony and rhythm in his compositions/arrangements have established him as a unique musical talent. Over the years, he’s shared the stage with the likes of Paquito D’Rivera, Eddie Palmieri, Danilo Perez, Chris Potter and Kurt Elling .. and he just keeps on growing and getting better ..
