Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with DC-Area Jazz Woodwind Player, Arranger & Big Band Leader Scott Silbert .. We caught up with him to talk about his latest 2022 CD Jump Children and his life in music .. On his album he assembled a swinging crew that recreates those days at ballrooms such as the Savoy, Palomar, Roseland or a dancehall near you. Prior to joining the Navy, he performed at Disney World for nine years. He joined the Navy Commodores big band in 1991 on baritone sax, then in 1998 became the chief arranger for the United States Navy Band for fifteen years until his retirement in 2017 ..
