Veteran Japanese Jazz Pianist & Composer Satoko Fujii on New Material & COVID Life

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Veteran Japanese Jazz Pianist & Composer Satoko Fujii on New Material & COVID Life .. We caught up with her from her home base in Kobe, Japan on March 11, 2022 .. the eve of the world shutdown two years ago to talk about surviving and thriving in COVID world, her new 2022 CD with Joe Fonda called Thread of Light and much more .. She became acquainted to Joe Fonda’s musical creativity in 1998 and both have been touring Europe separately in many different group selections over and over again .. This new project was recorded during the Corona-pandemic separately in their distant homes in Kobe, Japan and New York and put together for release. It music full of inspiration and optimism for a time after the pandemic.. It’s always great to catch up with Satoko .. Enjoy ..
