Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Drummer, Vocalist, Songwriter & Educator Barry Finnerty .. He is part of the Sher Music Co. second Jazz Songbook Series! Collection #2 .. We talked about that and a life in music that he’s been fortunate to share the stage with the likes of The Brecker Brothers and Miles Davis .. He’s originally from San Francisco, California and began classical piano at age 5, then got first guitar at age 13. He lived in Hong Kong from 1965-66 getting his first electric guitar and opened for Herman's Hermits. He moved to New York City in 1973 and then came home to San Francisco in 1998 .. He’s got quite a catalog of stories .. Enjoy ..
