Welcome to a new edition of the Famous Interviews with Joe Dimino series. On this episode, we talk with Recovering Employment Litigator & Owner of Aspen Grove Law Dave Albrechta about law, conflict, burnout, mediation, coaching, and a very different way of thinking about what lawyers can do to help people.
Dave spent a decade representing employees in federal court before stepping away from the adversarial legal system and asking a radical question: What if lawyers could become healers of human conflict?
After years inside traditional litigation, Dave began noticing a growing tension between the way lawyers are trained to handle conflict and the ways human beings actually heal, communicate, and resolve difficult situations. That realization led him toward mediation, integrative law, and coaching.
Today, Dave helps lawyers and professionals rethink their relationship with conflict, navigate burnout, and reconnect with the deeper purpose behind their work.
From his base in Colorado, we get into his journey from employment litigation to a more human-centered approach to conflict resolution — and the lessons he has learned along the way.
