Welcome to a new edition of the Famous Interviews with Joe Dimino series. On this episode, we catch up with Jillian Benneson, Starbucks manager, California dreamer, and Gen Z voice, for a special one-year-later conversation about big changes, new opportunities, and making dreams happen.
Back in December 2025, we spoke with Jillian before her move from Kansas City, Missouri, to Southern California. Now a San Diego transplant, Jillian returns to share how life has unfolded since taking that leap.
We get into settling into a new city, earning a major promotion at Starbucks, moving a Great Dane across the country, and the latest adventures involving her fiancé, Jamisyn, whose work includes a connection to Tony Hawk. With Jillian approaching her 21st birthday, her California dream is moving forward in exciting ways.
This episode also revisits a memorable moment from our original conversation, featuring audio from actor and comedian Rob Riggle offering Jillian advice about her move from Missouri to Southern California.
It's an honest, upbeat look at growing up, taking chances, building a career, navigating change, and following through on the promises we make to ourselves. One year later, Jillian is continuing to write her story—and there is plenty more ahead.
