Teacher & Author Mark Fabian: Beyond Happy | The Science of Happiness, Wellbeing & Finding Fulfillment

Welcome to a new edition of the Famous Interviews with Joe Dimino series. On this episode, we talk with Associate Professor, Affiliate Researcher & Author Mark Fabian, whose work explores one of life's biggest questions: What does it really mean to live a fulfilling life?

Mark is an associate professor of public policy at the University of Warwick and an affiliate researcher at the University of Cambridge's Bennett School for Public Policy. Previously, he was a Fulbright Scholar at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC. His research examines wellbeing and happiness through an interdisciplinary lens, with a particular focus on how these ideas can inform public policy. His work has appeared in leading scientific journals across multiple fields.

We dig into his book, Beyond Happy: How to Rethink Happiness and Find Fulfilment, and explore why happiness alone may not tell the whole story of a meaningful life.

What does it mean to flourish? How should we think about happiness, wellbeing and fulfillment? Can scientific research help us better understand what makes life worth living? And how can governments and communities use insights about human wellbeing to shape better policies and outcomes?

In this thoughtful conversation, Mark shares his perspective on the science of happiness, the complexities of human wellbeing, the search for meaning, and the practical implications of rethinking how we measure a good life.

From his base in London, Mark Fabian joins Joe Dimino for a fascinating discussion at the intersection of psychology, philosophy, economics, public policy and the human experience.

If you're interested in happiness research, positive psychology, personal development, life satisfaction, meaningful living or the deeper questions behind human flourishing, this is an interview worth exploring.
