Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Boston-born, San Diego-based Jazz Saxophonist Christopher Hollyday .. His 2nd CD after a 25 year break from recording is 2020’s Dialogue .. So, he began performing publicly in 1983 in the Boston area at age thirteen and 5 years later he headlined a week at the historic Village Vanguard in New York City. He’s been on the road with the great Maynard Ferguson & toured with his own quartet visiting every Western European country, Brazil, Canada, and most of the United States. These days he teaches saxophone at San Diego State University and in 2018 he returned to the recording studio to record his critically acclaimed comeback album Telepathy. He’s fulla great stories ..
