Guitarist & Composer Anthony Pirog of the Band The Messthetics

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with the Guitarist & Composer Anthony Pirog Jazz Group Messthetics  .. So, in 2019, the trio released its self-titled debut album and hit the road performing upwards of 200 shows across the US, Europe, and Asia. Their second full length isAnthropocosmic Nest and it came out in fall of 2019. It's the work of a more experienced band, whose dialog as a performing unit has necessarily focused and intensified. So we talked to this Washington DC about all of this .. He’s a loops magician – along with being a quiet but ubiquitous force on stages around his hometown. With fearsome chops and a keen ear for odd beauty, he has helped expand the possibilities of jazz, rock and experimentalism in a town long known for its straight-ahead tradition. So, dig this interview ..
