Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Canadian Jazz Saxophonist Grant Stewart .. We spoke with him on July 16, 2020 during the COVID-19 world of no live jazz about quite a bit .. He was born in Toronto and moved to New York City at the age of nineteen studying with masters such as Donald Byrd and Barry Harris. He has performed internationally with Jimmy Cobb, Harold Mabern, Louis Hayes, Curtis Fuller, Herb Geller and was a member of the last Al Grey Sextet. He’s got a great story . . So please get to know him and dig this interview.
