Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with New Orleans-based Grammy Award Winning Jazz Artist, Composer, Educator & Producer Adonis Rose .. We spoke with him about quite a bit .. like his latest 2020 CD Piece of Mind – It is Rose’s first released live album. While it was recorded in the late Spring of 2019, he feels the project is being released at a pivotal time amidst today’s turbulent backdrop. He believes that music transmits a powerful energy that is vital, and it can forcefully portray one’s expressions of freedom and celebration, love and liberation, camaraderie, expression, empathy, and change. Over his storied run, he has played and recorded with the biggest names in Jazz - like Terence Blanchard, Betty Carter, Dianne Reeves, Marcus Roberts, Harry Connick, Jr., and Wynton Marsalis .. Get to know him and dig this interview.
