Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Studio Director Sean Hodge of Prevail Media on behalf of UNESCO  .. For this year’s International Day of Jazz on April 30th, member cities of the UNESCO Creative Cities of Music came together for a joint video project. Jazz music plays a big role in many of the Creative Cities of Music in the network. The video features many talented musicians from UNESCO as they improvise and build on a song titled Afro-Red with musicians all over the world. The performance of the song was composed by Jaylen Ward of Kansas City and took place during the “Rhythm Between the River and the Lake” concert during the Semanas Musicales Music Festival in January 2023.
