Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Veteran Kansas City Vocalist Deborah Brown on the 2020 Dexter Gordon shows and events .. While she was in Europe and read the Dexter Gordon Biography - Sophisticated Giant: The Life and Legacy of Dexter Gordon – She realized that she had about 40 similar contacts in the book, but never met Dexter. After a conversation with his late wife and author of the book, Maxine, she decided Kansas City needed a tribute to the gentle giant. It will be in a screening to the film about Dexter - ‘Round Midnight’  - a book signing and 2 shows .. Through the Johnson County Community College and the Lawrence Arts Center ..
