NYC-based Jazz Trumpeter, Composer, Arranger and Producer Duane Eubanks

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Philadelphia-born, NYC-based Jazz Trumpeter, Composer, Arranger and Producer Duane Eubanks  ... Kansas City-based Saxophonist B.J. Jansen is bringing Duane to Kansas City to perform on May 13th, 2020 at the Westport Coffeehouse Theater – and we had to catch up with him about it .. He also talked about his Live at Smalls CD from 2018 .. Jazz is in his family lineage and he’s grateful for it .. His mother Vera is a pianist, and his brothers are celebrated trombonist Robin Eubanks and guitarist Kevin Eubanks and the legendary pianist Ray Bryant is his uncle. So, he got a  business degree at the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore and joined the university’s jazz band – then he studied jazz in master classes at Temple University with the legendary Dr. Billy Taylor before heading on to New York ..
